Community Speedwatch Press Release:
Dursley's Community Speedwatch group has continued over the summer with sessions being carried out in the town throughout the August and September period.
On Saturday the group were joined by Special Constable Jasmine Smart. Quite a few vehicles were recorded in excess of the speed limit and a number of drivers were "pulled over" by Jasmine. These drivers received some advice on safe driving speeds or were issued with a speeding ticket. A total of four speeding tickets were issued to the drivers who had excessively broken the speed limit.
Cllr Matt Nicholson, Chair of the Speedwatch Group, said "I would like to thank Jasmine for her time yesterday and hopefully will see more of her & her colleagues in the coming weeks. The Police presence definitely raises with profile of what Speedwatch is trying to achieve in the area and we fully support the issue of speeding tickets to the worst offenders".
The Speedwatch Group have more planned session in October and November, for more information on Community Speedwatch and for details of how you can become a volunteer please contact Cllr Nicholson or the Town Clerk by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or by telephone: 01453 547758.
