Profile
I was born in Cheltenham and grew up in Gloucester. I have lived in Dursley since 1976, having married a 'Dursley Boy', Arthur. We have 3 children, Jo a full-time firefighter based in Gloucester, Neil a hospital administrator living in Manchester and Nick, who teaches maths at Abingdon Boys School in Oxfordshire.
I am proud to have been Mayor for 10 years and a Town Councillor for 20 years.
I am the manager at Dursley Community Centre.
I was a governor at Everlands school for 20 years, 12 of them as Chairman. I am also proud to be Chairman of the Dursley and Cam branch of the Royal British Legion. I am also Chairman of the Vale Community Hospital League of Friends having been involved from the very beginning.
My husband was a firefighter in the town for over 30 years and as well as running his own business, we are very much a partnership in running the Community Centre.
I enjoy quizzes and have played in the Dursley and District quiz league for over 30 years, I also compile quizzes and have run them for many organisations in the town.
Although we have lost most of the industry in the town, I think that we have a thriving community and it is still growing in no small part through the enthusiasm of the Town Council which I am proud to be a small part of.
