Dursley Town Council CCTV

2020/21 Update

The Town Council have agreed to upgrade and expand the CCTV system. A new hard drive will now allow for a number of new cameras in the Town Centre. The new cameras will increase CCTV coverage in Silver Street, Long Street and Castle Street.

The installation of the cameras is ongoing as we need to liaise with Gloucestershire County Council, Stroud District Council and a number of private individuals.

We would like to thank those individuals who have helped us to increase the CCTV coverage in the town centre.

CCTV System

Dursley Town Council has commissioned CCTV system in the town centre to help combat crime and anti-social behaviour.

The new system provides quality, high definition images and is in addition to the existing Stroud CCTV system that has been operating in the town for many years.

The position of the 12 new cameras has been agreed following consultation with the local Police team and security consultants, Redhand, and provides wider coverage of the town centre.

The system also provides coverage of the War Memorial Recreation Ground and will include the new Long Street Car Park when it opens later this year.

For further details about the management, operation and use of the new CCTV system please see a copy of the Council's CCTV Policy and Code of Practice.
