ReConnect support for Stroke, Aphasia & other long-term conditions
ReConnect Gloucestershire are taking referrals for their peer befriending scheme and peer support groups. People affected by Stroke, Aphasia, and other long term health conditions are matched up with a Befriender who has also been affected by these conditions, offering invaluable empathy through their personal experience and company during a time that is often very isolating. Befriending can happen at home, in care homes, in hospital or at a ReConnect group. We aim to rebuild patients’ confidence and enable them to get to a group where people share experiences and support each other in the long-term. If you have a patient who might benefit from a Befriender, or who might want to be a Befriender for others, please contact Amy firstname.lastname@example.org, 07935 810 160 www.reconnectglos.org
