DURSLEY TOWN COUNCIL

NOTICE UNDER LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1972 (Section 87(2))

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor for the Highfields Ward of the Town Council of Dursley following the resignation on 13th September 2018 of Councillor Wayne Paice.

Rule 5(6) of The Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules, 2006 now applies.

The casual vacancy in the office of town councillor has occurred within six months before the date on which the present councillors will retire. No election will be held to fill a casual vacancy that occurs within this period. However, the parish council may co-opt a person to fill the vacancy.
