Dursley Town Council's Response to Stroud District Council's Emerging Local Plan consultation.

Dursley Town Council's Response to Stroud District Council's Emerging Local Plan consultation.

Over the last six weeks Dursley Town Council have been reviewing the Local Plan Review Emerging Strategy Paper issued by Stroud District Council.

Councillors have attended workshops, briefings and we have worked closely with the members of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group to formulate our response.

We have been encouraged by the level of local participation at our Planning Committees in December & January, the correspondence received by the Council and the comments on local social media forums. We would like to thank all of the Dursley residents who have participated and those who have submitted comments to Stroud District Council.

The Town Council was pleased that much of the Emerging Strategy is closely aligned with the polices of our recently approved Neighbourhood Development Plan.

However, there is one significant proposal which the Town Council are disappointed was considered suitable for this consultation and have strongly objected to the proposed 80 dwellings on the land titled "North of Ganzell Lane" (Site PS29).

The reasons for our objection and our other comments are included within our response (available to view on the Dursley Town Council website).

Our response was approved at our Planning Committee on the 15th January and we have now submitted this response to Stroud District Council.
