Official Opening of Long Street Car Park

Mayor Neil Grecian officially opening the new Long Street Car Park on 2nd July 2019.

The 46 space car park is a new free long stay facility located on the old Reliance House site in Long Street, Dursley. The car park includes disabled bays, motorcycle bays and a cycle stand.

The car park is open 24 hours, 7 days a week which will benefit visitors, walkers, business owners, traders, employees and local residents. There is a maximum waiting time of 23 hours in a 24-hour period which will be enforced by an ANPR camera.

The site was purchased in December 2017 by the Town Council, demolition of the existing building was carried out in June/July 2018. The car park was constructed during the early part of 2019 and opened for business on Monday 24th June.

In attendance for the opening are Dursley Town Councillors including Deputy Mayor Mandy Woodward, Chair of the Car Park Committee Cllr Symon Ackroyd, Councillors Abraham, Creswick and Hayes; Gloucestershire County Council (and Dursley Town Cllr) Loraine Patrick; Stroud District Councillor for Dursley, Trevor Hall and representatives from our consultants: Bruton Knowles, Outsource Safety and Simpsons Engineering.
