Official Opening of the Petanque Court

Official Opening of the Petanque Court

We are pleased to announce that the installation of a Petanque Court at the War Memorial Recreation Ground is complete. The court was officially opened by the Mayor on Tuesday 22nd October 2019.

The facility is free to use and will be run on a turn up and play basis. If required, players can borrow Boules from 'The Pulse' in return for a refundable deposit.

The court was installed with the help of a Sports England grant which covered 50% of the costs. It's a great addition to our leisure facilities and provides another way in which our residents can remain active.

Local resident and keen Petanque player, John Roberts, approached the Town Council with a proposal for a Petanque Terrain in Dursley. The game is one of the most inclusive activities available where people of all ages, gender, ability and fitness can participate equally together

Please contact John Roberts by email at: boulescamdursley@gmail.com for information about the future Cam and Dursley Boules Club.
