Local Plan Review - Dursley Town Council's Response

Local Plan Review - Dursley Town Council's Response

At our Council meeting on Tuesday 21st January 2020, the Councillors approved our response to the latest consultation of the Local Plan review by Stroud District Council.

The Local Plan identifies the housing, employment, retail and community development that is required to meet local needs up until 2031.

Dursley Town Council have produced a comprehensive response looking at many aspects of the plan and proposals. We were encouraged by the support from local residents of whom over 60 attended our recent Planning Committee meetings.

The key points in our response included:

1) Our continued objection to any development of Site "PS29" Land North of Ganzell Lane.
2) We do not support the statement "the preferred direction for housing growth in landscape terms to the Southeast of Dursley"
3) The significant impact on highways, schools, doctors surgeries and other public services with the significant development proposed at Cam, Wisloe and Sharpness.
4) Our concern at parking standards within new developments.

Our full response is available to view on the Town Council website.
