Dursley Town Council's Response to the Closure of Lloyds Bank

Dursley Town Council are extremely disappointed with the news that the Dursley branch of Lloyds Bank is to close in July 2020. This has come as a surprise as there appears to have been no consultation with local organisations, businesses and customers of the branch.

Dursley Town Council have requested that Lloyds Bank reconsider the decision following a proper consultation exercise.

At our Council meeting on Tuesday 21st January 2020, the Councillors approved our response to the latest consultation of the Local Plan review by Stroud District Council.

Dursley Town Council Budget 2020/21

Dursley Town Council has set its budget for the coming financial year and will continue to invest in a range of projects to benefit Dursley.

The Mayor, Cllr Neil Grecian said, "we have agreed to a very modest rise in our share of the Council Tax for the following year to allow for inflation and staffing costs".

Cllr Rubin returns to the Town Council after a break of nearly 10 years, replacing former Cllr Suzi Abraham in the Highfields Ward.

Festive Window Competition

The winners of the 2019 Festive were announced on Friday evening at the annual Festive Dursley Switch On event. The theme for this year's competition was "Winter Wonderland"

In addition to the normal Remembrance Sunday parade in the town centre on Sunday 10th November 2019 (schedule listed below) the Town Mayor, Cllr Neil Grecian will be laying a wreath at the World War 2 memorial.

The World War 2 memorial is located at the pavilion on the War Memorial Recreation Ground. The wreath will be laid by the Mayor at 11am on Monday 11th November 2019.

Official Opening of the Petanque Court

Official Opening of the Petanque Court

We are pleased to announce that the installation of a Petanque Court at the War Memorial Recreation Ground is complete. The court was officially opened by the Mayor on Tuesday 22nd October 2019.

The facility is free to use and will be run on a turn up and play basis. If required, players can borrow Boules from 'The Pulse' in return for a refundable deposit.
