Sadly and not for the first time this summer the planters in the town centre have been targeted by mindless vandals.

The planters are sponsored by a number of organisations with the plants supplied by volunteers and the Dursley in Bloom group who put in so much effort for our town to look its best throughout the year.

Dursley Residents Suggestion

Dursley Town Council are asking local residents for one suggestion on "How they would improve the town?"

The Residents Suggestion will be launched at the 2019 Dursley Annual Assembly on the 21st May 2019. All attendees to the Annual Assembly will be provided with a suggestion slip and invited to submit their idea into our suggestion box.

The recipients of the 2019 Leslie D Gale awards were announced by the Mayor, Cllr Neil Grecian at the Dursley Annual Assembly.

The Leslie D Gale Award for service to the community, first awarded in 1994, was presented to Mike Doughty and David Durden.

The Annual Assembly is a "meeting of the town" which is facilitated by the Town Council. This year's guest speaker is Mr Robin Smith, Technical Director for St Modwen Homes.

Litter Picking - Thank you.

The Town Council would like to thank the Dursley Lion and Lioness volunteers who collected 10 bags of litter on Wednesday 23rd April.

The volunteers cleared litter from Long Street, Water Street, Lister Drive, Highfields Play Area, Cam Pitch and Fairmead.

The Town Council have a small supply of litter pickers and bags should there be any other volunteers who would like to keep our town clean and tidy.... Read More »

2019 Pancake Race - Sponsorship

Following the recent successful Pancake Race on the 5th March 2019, the Mayor Cllr Neil Grecian and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mandy Woodward visited Henlow Court this morning to hand over a cheque for £200. This sum was raised through race entry fees and sponsorship of this year's runners.

At the Car Park Committee on 26th March 2019 the Councillors agreed that the new car park will be called the Long Street Car Park. This new car park will be free to use and is considered a long stay facility with a maximum waiting time of 23 hours in a 24-hour period.
