Pancake Race 2019: The Results
The 2019 Pancake Race was held earlier today with entrants representing local organisations and businesses taking part.
The final result were:
1st: Liam Jones, representing The Pulse Leisure Centre
2nd: Will Hayward, representing The Old Spot
3rd: Chelsie Winsor, representing Henlow Court

Dursley Town Council – Authorised to Issue Fixed Penalty Notices for Dog Fouling
The Town Council are pleased to confirm that under the jurisdiction of Stroud District Council the Council's grounds staff are now fully trained and authorised to issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN's) for dog fouling offences.

Annual Pancake Race: Tuesday 5th March 2019
Dursley's annual Pancake Race is held on Shrove Tuesday each year. The race is traditionally held in Parsonage Street at 12 noon. Depending on the number of runners who have entered, "heats" are held with the fastest runners qualifying for the grand final.
In February 2010, Dursley Town Council resolved to resurrect the annual Pancake Race, and to provide a trophy for the winner.

Leslie D Gale Awards 2019
The Nominations for the 2019 awards to be announced at the town's Annual Assembly on the 21st May 2018 are now OPEN.
The Leslie D Gale Award was instituted in 1994, as a tribute to the late Mr Gale, who was the last Chairman of Dursley Parish Council and the first Mayor of Dursley, and who served the community in so many ways. Winter Weather Advice
The first real snow of the winter is with us this morning, treated roads are passable with care, but we are experiencing problems with estate roads and other non-gritted routes. Long Street has been closed by the police.

Dursley Town Council Budget 2019/20
Dursley Town Council has set its budget for the coming financial year and will continue to invest in a range of projects to benefit Dursley.

Road Closure: Long Street, Dursley
The Town Council has been informed that a 200m section of Long Street will be closed to through traffic between Monday 7th and Wednesday 9th January 2019.
This is to allow for resurfacing the new road layout between the new (Victoria Street) junction and the entrance to the Littlecombe housing estate.
Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained.

Office Closure: 21st Dec 2018 to 2nd Jan 2019
The office will close at 12pm on Friday 21st December and reopen to the public at 10am on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
