New play equipment at Highfields Park

New play equipment at Highfields Park

The Town Council has recently had two new pieces of play equipment installed at Highfields Park. The first item is an inclusive swing, which is suitable for all children and situated in the enclosed play area. The second piece is a new seesaw, located at the far end of the park, which can accommodate up to four children.

In September this year, Dursley Town Council had to remove the wooden Youth Shelter located at Highfields Play Area due to safety concerns.

Dursley Town Council is Appealing for Witnesses

Unfortunately, the children's Zip Wire at Highfields Play Area has had to be taken out of use again, for the second time in the last month.

The new seat, which cost the Council over £300 to replace, was installed for less than a week before being chewed by a dog. It has had to be removed until further notice.

Highfields Play Area: Improvements & Upgrades to the Facilities

The next phase of our improvements at Highfield's Play Area will begin on the week commencing 13th November. These latest improvements will include the installation of a new cableway and the reconstruction of the base of the wooden climbing frame.

Highfields Play Area: Improvements & Upgrades to the Facilities

The Town Council's Green Spaces Committee confirmed improvements and new facilities for Highfields Play Area at our meeting on the 19th September 2017.

The Committee approved a new zip wire facility to be installed and important safety improvements to the existing Borneo climbing frame. These improvements are in addition to the revamp of the BMX track and new picnic tables carried out at the beginning... Read More »

Highfields Play Area - Youth Shelter

Since taking responsibility for Highfields Play Area, the Town Council have received reports of antisocial behaviour associated with the Youth Shelter. The most recent incident was reported to the police and resulted in two local youths carrying out repairs as a method of restorative justice.

Thank you to all our volunteers who supported our Community Day at Highfield's Play Area yesterday despite the Bank Holiday rain.

The volunteers were able to clear overhanging vegetation, collect litter, repair fences, remove weeds strim along the boundary fences and clean benches. Unfortunately we had to cancel the planned painting of the youth shelter and play equipment due to the weather.

Only Three Weeks left to Vote!!!

The Town Council's project for a Community Day at Highfields Play Area has been selected as one of three local projects to receive funding from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme.

Our Community Day project will receive a share of £8000 with the final amount to be decided by Tesco customers who can vote at local stores around the District until the end of April.

The date has been set for our Highfields Play Area Community Day, it will be held on Spring Bank Holiday Monday, 29th May 2017.

The event will start at 10am where we will be asking for community volunteers to help us carry out some routine maintenance jobs including painting equipment, repairing damaged fences and for those of you with green fingers their will be some planting jobs.

Tesco Grant Funding: Highfields Play Area

The Town Council's project for a Community Day at Highfields Play Area has been selected as one of three local projects to receive funding from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme.
